Earlier in the blog I posted some photos of East Ruston garden in the Spring. I returned to visit the garden last weekend to see it in a different season. It was a gorgeous weekend, with very few people around, so a lovely time to mooch round, soak up the Autumn sunshine and take a few snaps….. and have a lovely piece of cake and tea sitting outside!
The garden is open from late March through to 25 October on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoon. Do check their website for specific dates! If you are a keen gardener, do not miss the chance for a visit – less than 5 mins drive away and a lovely afternoon out….
Sunday 30 March saw the opening of the gardens for the season . My highlights – beautiful sight of magnolias in full bloom and heady fragrance of huge containers of hyacinths.
The garden is in the process of reawakening for Spring, but really interesting to see the changes for this year. Apparently the location of the garden creates a unique microclimate for growing, hence the wide variety of unusual plants that can be grown. There are lots of quirky features to see and, if you are interested in gardening, a lovely way to spend some peaceful time….
The gardens are about 5 mins drive from Seascape and open 1 pm to 5.30 pm on Wed, Thur, Fri, Sat and Sunday (and bank hols) until Saturday 25 October.
Here’s a little slideslow from Sunday
